In search of happiness, would-be hedonist Andy Wright arrives in Thailand for another season of excess. Immersed again in the everyday chaos of Bangkok, he’s back where he belongs, where he feels most alive: a city of old friends, long nights and strong drinks. But soon there are complications: he can’t get his best friend’s girl out of his head; there’s a search for a missing person; something- some malevolent presence- is following him.
He’d thought of himself as a sophisticated, enlightened traveller, a cut above the bar-girls and beer-bellies crowd, but he finds himself sinking further into a life of intoxication and indulgence and is increasingly uneasy, agitated and unable to cope. Harassed, wherever he goes, by the mysterious stalker and exhausted by the excess he craves, is Andy just another foreigner out of his depth in Bangkok?
